The Eurosystem Procurement Coordination Office (EPCO) coordinates joint procurements for the central banks participating in the European System of Central Banks (ESCB). The ESCB comprises the European Central Bank (ECB) and the central banks of all 27 Member States of the European Union.

A Procurement Plan for EPCO is approved each year by the Governing Council of the ECB.

As part of the EPCO procurement coordination activities of 2011, the ECB and the participating National Central Banks are updating the Global Hotel Agreements which were put in place in 2010. We are therefore looking for partner hotels in the main cities most frequently visited by the staff of the Central Banks. The Central Banks involved in the project will then have access to preferential rates for their staff and guests in hotel meeting their quality requirements. The hotels to be recommended would make their rates available to the Central Banks as part of the Hotel Programme 2011 to be proposed to the Central Banks.

The objective of this procurement is to gather the best corporate rates provided by the hotels, to include them in the  Hotel Programme 2011 and make them available for use on a bilateral basis between the individual central banks and the hotels.

For this initiative, the Banque centrale du Luxembourg supported by EPCO has been nominated as leader for this joint procurement and therefore will act as authorised representative for this procedure on behalf of the other participating Central Banks.
