Exchange of banknotes & coins

• mutilated banknotes & coins,
• destroyed banknotes & coins,
• banknotes & coins that have been withdrawn from circulation after losing their legal tender.

The Bank, as an issuing institution, is in charge of providing an exchange of such banknotes and coins in euros or banknotes in Luxembourg francs.

For the deposit of banknotes and coins to be reimbursed, please contact the "Espace numismatique" of the Banque centrale du Luxembourg which is open for the public from Monday to Friday from 10:30 to 16:00 at the following adresse:

The exchange is offered at the Central Bank under strict regulations.
