Characteristics :

  • the obverse side shows the logo of the Court of Justice "CVRIA" , surrounded with the comment "Cour de Justice des Communautés Européennes", with the face value of "25 EURO" and with the years "1952-2002";
  • the reverse side shows the effigy of His Royal Highness the Grand Duke Henri, work of the Luxembourg artist Mrs Yvette Gastauer-Claire, the indication "LËTZEBUERG" and contains a latent image with the symbol of the euro " € " as well as the year "2002" ;
  • the commemorative coin is struck as a "coin" and in "proof-like" quality, it has a smooth edge, a diameter of 37 mm, a weight of 22,85 gr, a thickness of 2,2 mm and a fineness of 0,925 silver ;
  • the commemorative coin has legal tender status in Luxembourg as from 1st December 2002 for its face value of 25 euro.
