The coin presents following characteristics:
- The obverse shows the book of the Treaty signed by the six founding countries on a background evocating the paving of the Piazza del Campidoglio in Rome. The edge of the coin shows the inscription regarding the editing state « LËTZEBUERG », the twelve stars of the European Union and the year of the issue « 2005 » ;
- The reverse of the coin shows the common side of all the euro coins.
The coin has legal tender and status (nominal value of 2 EUR) in the euro zone starting from the publication in the European Official Journal.
The coin card (15 000 have been edited and numbered individually) contains this commemorative coin.
