The set is the first one of a series of seven dedicated to the different architectural periods depicted on the euro banknotes and present in Luxembourg. The 2005 set shows the architectural period of the 5 euro banknote, that’s to say the antique period.
The set contains the 8 Luxembourg current euro coins and the 2 euro commemorative coin dedicated to the 50th birthday of the Grand Duke Henri, the 5th anniversary of his accession to the throne and to the 100th anniversary of the death of Grand Duke Adolphe.
The minting has been done by the Mint of Finland. A first edition limited to 20 000 units will be edited. An eventual second edition of 15 000 units may be issued if needed. Each set is individually numbered
