2005 Commemorative 2-euro coin

This commemorative issue is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of HRH the Grand Duke Henri, the 5th anniversary of his accession to the throne and the 100th anniversary of the death of Grand Duke Adolphe.

The coin presents following characteristics:

• The obverse of the coin bears the portraits Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duke Adolphe. A circular inscription « GRANDS-DUCS DE LUXEMBOURG » surrounds the effigy. « Henri * 1955 » and « Adolphe † 1905 » are inserted below the portraits . The edge of the coin shows the inscription regarding the editing state « LËTZEBUERG », the twelve stars of the European Union and the year of the issue « 2005 » ;
• The reverse of the coin shows the common side of all the euro coins.

The coin has legal tender and status (nominal value of 2 EUR) in the euro zone starting from the publication in the European Official Journal.
