The 2005 Benelux set is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Benelux Parliamant.
The set contains the 8 euro coins of the three countries. For Luxembourg, the 2-euro coin is the new 2005 commemorative coin « Grand Duke Henri – Grand Duke Adolphe ». The set also contains a silver medal created especially for this occasion, designed by Luc Luyckx. The obverse depicts a map of Europe as shown on the 1 and 2 € coins and the reverse represents the buildings of the Parliaments of the three countries, a stylised hemicycle and the inscription "Benelux".
Each set is numbered individually.
