1. General information

With the “Luxembourg Household Finance and Consumption Survey” conducted 2014, the Banque centrale du Luxembourg (BCL) aims to assess the financial situation and the consumption patterns of private households in Luxembourg. The first survey took place in 2010/11. The next wave is scheduled for 2017. It is foreseen to repeat it every three years thereafter. The survey is part of a European project, entitled “Household Finance and Consumption Survey”, that is organised under the Eurosystem and managed by the ECB. Information on the distribution of wealth, debt and income of households living in Luxembourg is particularly important for a better understanding of the impact of macroeconomic shocks on our economy. The results of this survey will therefore contribute to the better knowledge through economic research and provide an even more solid foundation for the single monetary policy.
