EuroStep Challenge
EuroSteps Walking Challenge: Walk and strengthen your financial literacy
On the occasion of International Women's Day 2026, the European Central Bank (ECB) launched the EuroSteps Walking Challenge, an initiative aimed at improving financial literacy for everyone and reducing the financial knowledge gap between women and men.
A learning device embedded in daily life
The concept behind the EuroSteps Walking Challenge is simple: combining physical activity with financial learning. In practice, participants download the Walk15 app to track their daily step count. They also receive two to three notifications per week, offering short, clear and accessible content on finance-related topics.
Open to everyone, the challenge will run from 1 April to 1 May 2026. Registration is already open, and rewards are planned for the five participants who record the highest number of steps, as well as five additional participants selected by draw.
A crucial issue
As ECB President Christine Lagarde highlighted on International Women's Day: "Financial education shapes our choices throughout life. Yet today, too many women are making those choices without the knowledge and expertise they need."
Join the challenge
Registration is done through the Walk15 app. Take part now and turn every step into an opportunity to learn and better understand financial issues.
