Information and launch teleconference on Friday 15 October at 2:30pm. Write to email@example.com to subscribe.
For the ninth consecutive year, the Banque centrale du Luxembourg (BCL) is joining forces with the European Central Bank (ECB) and around ten other national central banks in the euro area to organise the Eurosystem's "Generation €uro Students' Award" school competition.
The "Generation €uro" competition is open to secondary school students aged 16 to 19 interested in economics. The competition is played in teams of three to five students supervised by a "coach" teacher. Any team can participate in English or French.
Once registered, teams will be able to take part in the first event, an online quiz with 30 questions that will be available until 18 November 2021 on the competition site www.generationeuro.eu. The best teams at the end of this event will qualify for the second event, in which the teams will have until 19 January 2022 to propose in writing a monetary policy decision on the basis of an analysis of the economic and monetary situation in the euro area. The top three teams from this second round will be called for the final in March or April 2022 (exact date to be confirmed), where they will have to explain to a jury of BCL experts the reasons for their new monetary policy decision.
All students taking part in the final of the "Generation €uro" competition will be awarded a prize and a certificate of achievement, and will have the opportunity of completing a summer internship at the BCL.
An information and launch teleconference will be organized on Thursday 14 October from 2:30pm to 3:30pm. This first event is organized virtually. However, preparation sessions to the three steps of the competition will be organized at the BCL premises as soon as possible.
For organisational reasons, teachers and students interested in attending this meeting should register by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org by 13 October at the latest. If you are unable to attend this meeting but are interested in receiving information on the organisation of the competition, please do not hesitate to write to the same address.
