Three co-winning teams of the 7th edition of the “Generation €uro Students’ Award” competition

11.08.2020

The BCL jury has designated three teams as co-winners of the 7th edition of the "Generation €uro Student's Award" school competition.

Thanks to their remarkable contributions, the three high school teams qualified for the final scheduled for March 2020, which unfortunately could not take place due to the health crisis caused by COVID-19. Thus, the BCL jury decided to share the award among the finalists.

The co-winners, from the Athénée of Luxembourg and the Lycée Ermesinde of Mersch, share the prizes, which include collector's coins issued by the BCL and gift vouchers. In addition, each finalist will be able to do an internship at the BCL once the sanitary conditions will allow it.

The co-winning teams are, by alphabetical order:

  • The Adam Smith team from Lycée Ermesinde of Mersch, composed of Marline Becker, Samuel Hoffmann, Raffaël Marth and Noé Wagner, and coached by Mrs Françoise Origer;
  • The Cash Royale team from the Athénée of Luxembourg, composed of Erart Begalla, Cédric Castel, Sabin-Andrei Clement, Yann Hirtzig and Felix Schwartz, and coached by Mr Christophe Baustert;
  • The Mama Charlotte team from the Athénée of Luxembourg, composed of Henri Janssen, Charlotte Capellini, Max Wilhelm and Malte Weydert, and coached by Mr Christophe Baustert.

The "Generation €uro Students' Award" competition is organised by the BCL in Luxembourg and is, in principle, aimed at students in 2nd or 12th grade studying economics. Teams of three to five students supervised by a "coach" teacher take part in the competition. It is open to European and international schools in Luxembourg. Participation is possible in English or French. The competition is organised simultaneously in eleven euro area member countries by the respective national central banks.
