Silver commemorative coin for the European Parliament

The Central Bank of Luxembourg (BCL) is issuing a silver commemorative coin on the occasion of the 25 th anniversary of the direct elections to the European Parliament. The coin has the following characteristics:

The obverse of the coin bears the logo of the European Parliament, the European flag, the indication "European Parliament" and its face value "25 euro";

The reverse bears the effigy of His Royal Highness the Grand Duke Henri (work of the Luxembourg artist Mrs. Yvette Gastauer-Claire), the indication "LËTZEBUERG", the euro symbol " EUR" and the year 2004;

Minted in "proof-like" quality, the coin has a smooth edge, a diameter of 37 mm, a thickness of 2,2 mm, weighs 22, 85 gr and possesses a fineness of 0,925 silver;

The coin is legal tender in Luxembourg as from 15 July 2004, its nominal value being 25 euros.

The purchase price is 60 euros.

The coin is available as from July 20 at the counters of the BCL, 2, Boulevard Royal, L-2983 Luxembourg. Opening hours: 8.30 a.m.-12.15 p.m. and 1.30 p.m.- 4.00 p.m.
